Big fly agaric - Royalty free image

image name

Image Description: Commonly known as the “fly agaric,” the Amanita muscaria is a very poisonous and highly psychoactive fungus - and this sample just happens to be a particularly big one! Interesting effects on humans aside, the fly agaric is also very fun to look at, sporting small white outgrowths across its deep orange head. While they’re native to only regions in the Northern Hemisphere, pesky humans and their tendency to drop new species off as they travel have seen the fly agaric become common in many countries in the Southern Hemisphere, as well. Wherever you may find it, most definitely don’t eat it!
