Image Description: This picture shows how much plants want to live and grow. A tree will grow into anything it can; its roots will sneak into any crack or split in any stone. A mountain terrain is not a hospitable environment, and many trees and plants have trouble getting started, but once the roots start to explore, their chances of survival greatly increase. The tops of the rocks in the picture have baked on plant material, showing us the dry harshness of the area. The weather and landscape are not very welcoming to new plant life either; a mountain top is typically hot, dry, and rocky. Because plants and trees usually require a moist, warm environment to begin to grow, it is a wonder that there is any flora life there at all!
