Image Description: One of the best known aspects of New York City is Central Park, a huge, sprawling area of forest and wildlife that sits smack dab in the midst of the skyscrapers that dominate Manhattan, but this photograph serves to remind us that even this mainstay of metropolitan life isn’t always open for business. The passing of a major storm has left the trees and structures of the park damaged and in need of repair, and, as the visible signs reveal, that has lead to the closing of many areas of the park while the necessary work is completed. Still, nothing of its beauty is lost, from the lush greenery to the stately statue of a horse and rider that dominate the sitting area straight ahead.
