Image Description: If you were to close your eyes and picture a waterfall, you’d likely bring to mind some powerful, raging river dropping its stock over the edge of a soaring cliff, making for a scene of wet chaos below. While such behemoths do exist, waterfalls come in all shapes and sizes, as this small example shows. Rushing over a rock that bears the marks of at least thousands of years of constant water flow, this small river is bringing nourishment to a wide variety of foliage, with a tree growing right on the threshold between soil and stone. The largest gap in the main face of the stone behind the falling water runs very deep, allowing the water above to rush both sideways and forward in its constant quest for lower ground.
