Image Description: Known as the symbol of pirates of the high seas around the world, the skull and crossbones icon has been used to represent many other groups and causes throughout history, as well. This particular showing of the familiar human remains appears to be carved out of the face of this stone slab itself, with the grey, lifeless coloring of the medium providing an appropriate color palette to the grisly symbol. Like most uses of the skull and crossbones, this one is missing its lower jaw, with the top teeth making up the bottom border of the head, before two misshapen and impossible to identify bones criss-cross below it.
