With biscuits obviously not a natural part of their diet, it’s quite likely that this kangaroo is kept in captivity, perhaps a zoo or conservation center, with the rare treat coming from the generous hands of a visitor. The background, fuzzy and out of focus, hints at some fairly extensive landscape, but offers no real clue as to the kangaroo’s surroundings. In any case, it looks healthy and well-fed, so we can be sure that it’s not physically suffering, whether from a lack of freedom, or the hardships of competing for food in the wild.
