The Power Of Branding: Are You Using These Social Media Strategies?

Harness the power of social media and you’ll boost your unique brand and reach your customer base in new and exciting ways!

If you want to build brand awareness, improve customer relationships and build on your current business foundation, social media engagement is a must.

For all those reasons and more, it’s crucial for businesses to have a strong, on-purpose social media strategy–dare we say a killer strategy! Mediocre tactics may carry you along but if you really want to stand out follow these eight strategy tips!

Credibility comes first

No matter what your credentials are, you need to build your online persona and credibility before anything else. Use a domain name generator to find a brand name that is easy and fun to promote. Establish your business or product knowledge with valuable content that solves common and uncommon problems.

By regularly demonstrating your ability to finesse the lingo and provide answers, you’ll attract customers.

Send Emails that meet a need

Broadcast emails are so ten years ago. Your email should begin by presenting a problem that the reader can relate to, create some urgency to find an answer then BAM! Provide that answer. Everything else comes after. If you can do that, you’ve got a killer social media strategy.

Do not send confusing newsletters crammed with colorful offerings or misinformation. Always focus on precise products or services and be sure to insert a clear call to action.

Measure the moment before engaging

You published a post that’s got people talking. Do you jump in right away? Hmm… that’s a good question.

When it comes to social media, people want to contribute, they want to be heard. It’s okay to share your expert opinion but don’t drown out the other voices. Allowing followers to talk to one another is a good way to keep them talking about you.

Be a person–always

When possible, don’t sign off using the company name. Be a real person! If you’re chatting with a customer about an issue or question, sign your name, followed by your title once. All other sign offs in the conversation should be your name only.

Your clients need to see you as an advocate–not the company face.

Don’t self-promote

Burning up the Twitter feed with self-promotional posts will turn off your followers. Resist the urge to promote yourself directly. Praise needs to come from others.

Customers are expecting a more human feel to advertising these days, and that’s partly due to the rise in social media marketing. Consider what voice your company and brand need to have for your success, then train anyone who has company access to your social media to maintain this voice with you.

Set a monthly retweet goal

Anyone with a Twitter app or a computer can tweet. It’s those coveted retweets that you want. Set yourself a monthly retweet goal.

How to begin? Find some tweets you love, related to your industry and retweet them. Don’t ask for a retweet–they will come!

Include video marketing in your strategy

It does not matter how large or small your brand is, you have to have a video presence both on YouTube and on your website. This means that you have to create and produce your own videos which can be challenging.

Creating a slideshow presentation of your popular post and uploading it to Slideshare, or creating a YouTube video from it, exposes your brand to different markets and expands your social media reach.

Create a steady stream of information

Many companies and website owners fail to establish regularity in their marketing campaigns, which can lead to customers not visiting their site for a long time.

Consistent, regular posting is the key here.

Plug in these killer strategy tips and watch your social media presence soar!
