Duty free zone at the international airport - Free image for blogs

image name

Image Description: Duty free shops have been successful ever since the first one was designed by Brenda O'Regan in 1947 in Shannon Airport in Ireland. It was introduced to be a service provided for the passengers that were traveling between North America and Europe on business trips. There is usually one in every international airport. Its basic premise is that goods sold in such shops are exempt from certain local taxes and duties. What and how products can be sold is decided within individual jurisdictions. But buyer beware - just because the item is being sold at a duty free store does not mean that it's a bargain. The cost of many identical products can vary wildly at different duty free shops. The prices usually depend on the absence or presence of nearby competition.
