Image Description: There is not much on this great planet that looks as peaceful or as elegant as a pod of dolphins leisurely swimming together. Because dolphins have such a friendly appearance and seemingly playful disposition, they have become very popular with humans. We want to swim with dolphins, feed dolphins, talk to dolphins, and, most importantly, save dolphins; too many each year are caught up in nets and killed unnecessarily. Dolphins are very intelligent marine animals that are closely related to porpoises and whales, and there about almost forty different species. Dolphins have great eyesight and hearing, although it believed that they hear not from the tiny holes one either side of their head but through the lower jaw which sends sounds to the middle ear.
