Image Description: Looking quite like a colt or calf, this picture actually gives us a look at a slightly more exotic buffalo kid. The young buffalo is resting in a corner that looks like it may belong to a large barn complex, and there is a bare amount of hay beneath and strewn about him. While it’s hard to know with certainty, the small size of the kid gives the idea that he was born only hours before; in any case, his light, soft down marks him clearly as an infant. Like all babies, a buffalo kid needs copious amounts of sleep, and that’s exactly where this little specimen appears to be headed in this photograph.
